Damage, defects and returns
Every print is made to order — printed and packed for the person who ordered it, nothing stocked.
If it arrives damaged or defective
Email cdriehmart@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery and it is reprinted or refunded, at no cost to you. That covers damage in transit, a printing fault, a mis-cut, and anything that is not what you ordered.
Photograph everything before you throw any of it away — the print, the packaging and the outer box, including the damage to the box. Nothing needs to be sent back; the photographs are the claim, and a transit claim without them can be refused.
Fourteen days is the lab’s window, from the day the parcel is delivered — so open it when it arrives. After that the 30-day guarantee below still applies.
If it isn’t right on your wall
30-day guarantee. If it isn’t right on your wall, email me within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. No reason needed.
If you are in the UK or the EU you also have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. The guarantee above is longer and simpler, so use whichever suits you.
Colour
These are near-infrared photographs: foliage reads red or white because the camera records light your eye cannot see. No screen shows it quite as the paper does — cold press is a matte cotton surface and reads softer than a backlit display. If it isn’t what you hoped for, that is what the 30-day guarantee is for.
How it is made and shipped
Printing starts within a day or two. Prints are made in the United States on archival pigment inks by a professional lab working under my name; your order details go to them so they can print and post it, and nothing of theirs appears in the box.
You are buying from me, not from the lab. If something is wrong you deal with me.
Outside the US: orders ship by USPS, and customs duties or import charges are billed to you by the carrier on delivery. They are set by your own country and are not included in the price at checkout. 24 in prints ship within the US only — the lab has no international carrier for the largest tubes. The 12, 16 and 18 in sizes ship to every destination listed below.
Where prints ship (21 countries): Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States.
Sales tax
Prices on the site are shown before tax. US sales tax is calculated by Stripe at checkout from your delivery address, and appears as its own line before you pay — so the total you approve is the total you are charged. Most destinations are untaxed; Georgia is where this business is registered.
Privacy
The short version: this site has no database and no account system. What it keeps is an email address, if you give one, and what Stripe keeps about your order. It also uses a small number of advertising and analytics tags, described below, so that the ads that bring people here can be measured.
What is collected
If you buy something, your name, email address, shipping address and payment details are collected by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page. Card numbers never touch this site. Stripe passes back your name, email and shipping address so the order can be made and posted.
If you join the mailing list, your email address is stored against a customer record at Stripe, with a note of when and where you gave it. That is the whole mailing list — there is no separate marketing database.
Your browser stores your cart, on your own device. None of that is sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Advertising and measurement
This is a small shop that has to buy its visitors, which means knowing which ads lead to an order rather than guessing. To do that the site uses measurement tags from the advertising platforms it runs on — currently Meta, Google and Pinterest, and possibly others later. They record that a page was viewed, that a print was added to a cart, and that an order was completed, along with which print and what it cost.
One of those platforms, Meta, is also told about a completed order directly by this site's server rather than by your browser, so that an order is counted once and only once. Where that includes anything identifying — an email address, a city, a postcode — it is hashed before it is sent and cannot be read back out. Card details are never involved: they never reach this site at all.
These tags do set cookies, and the platforms may use what they record to show you advertising elsewhere. You can stop that at any time with a tracking blocker, your browser's Do Not Track or anti-tracking setting, or the ad-preference controls the platforms themselves provide. Nothing on this site is withheld if you do — the shop works identically either way.
Who else sees it
Stripe handles payment and holds the customer record. The print lab receives your name and shipping address so it can post the print — deliberately not your email address. Vercel serves the site and keeps ordinary server logs.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone not needed to make and deliver an order.
The mailing list is opt-in. It is used for new work and occasional offers, and you can leave at any time by replying to any email or writing to cdriehmart@gmail.com. If you tick the box at checkout, that is a separate consent and works the same way.
Your data
Email cdriehmart@gmail.com to see what is held about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Deletion requests are honoured except where a record has to be kept for that reason.
Advertising platforms, and the tags they ask for, change. This page describes what the site does and why rather than listing every vendor, so that it stays true as those change — the categories above are the commitment.
